Two insider tips for water lovers and sun worshipers
There are a large number of beautiful lakes along the Romantic Road that are ideal for all kinds of water sports. In addition to the well-known lakes at the southern end of the Romantic Road, there are also a few insider tips.
The lesser-known bathing paradises include the Münsterseen near Creglingen and the local recreation area of Riedlinger Seen near Donauwörth.
Badeparadies Münsterseen
Games, fun and nature are guaranteed in the Münsterseen leisure and recreation area. The bathing lake is located directly on the outskirts of Münster, a district of Creglingen. It is surrounded by tree-lined sunbathing areas. Swimming in the lake is also suitable for non-swimmers thanks to a designated non-swimmer area with a shallow entry into the water.
A small, specially created pebble beach conveys southern holiday feelings and the large water playground with pumps, channels, weirs, tow raft and fountain hopper not only invites children to imaginative splashing and playing. If you want to strengthen your immune system, you can take a cool foot bath in the Kneipp pool in between.
Naherholungsgebiet „Riedlinger Seen“
In the Donauwörth district of Riedlingen, an attractive local recreation area for water lovers and sun worshipers was created through the recultivation of several gravel pits. There are parking spaces, sunbathing areas, changing rooms, beach volleyball courts, a mud area, bathing islands and a fireplace.
A games and sports area delights guests and the kiosk offers refreshments and small snacks. The lawns are shaded by trees. That's why visitors can find a shady, cool spot even on hot days.
